    More flight judging questions

I was told today that I needed to have a window sticker for points during judging. I always looked down on the reproduction window stickers everyone has. Do I really need one of these for judging?

I am planning to drive my 69 to Kissimmee. I read in the rules that flight judged cars cannot leave the judging area. Is this also the case if it is my only mode of transportation?

Gary...window stickers are not judged...however if you have an NCRS decal you get 3 points additonal on operations...and if you have a fire extinguisher and a battery cutoff switch you also get three points each...but it you have all three of the above items, you get 10 points added to your operations score...

As far as driving and flight judging...all cars are required to be on the judging field at the designated time (usually Thursday by 5pm) and are required to remain on the field until judging is completed on Saturday afternoon...even if it is your only mode of transportation.

The window sticker you're being urged to have is a small NCRS logo (available from the club store or at the meet) and not the Maroney (sp) type window sticker. The NCRS decal, a battery cut off and a fire extinguisher placed in the car form a 10 point freebie during judging. Not mandatory, just good sense.

Your car will need to stay put during judging, but there's little reason to drive anywhere- all the hotels, restaurants, entertainment etc are easy walking distance. Most hotels have shuttles if you really need to go off site.

A "window sticker" is NOT what you have been told to place on your car's glass. As the other posters have already pointed out, placing a small NCRS decal on your car's glass will get you 3 of the 10 bonus points in the Operations Section of Flight Judging. I have attached a photo of my '65 Sting Ray with the NCRS decal on the vent window.

If you are adverse to placing this decal on your car's glass, just don't do it. -Clark

I randomly met a guy that sells the reproduction window stickers online. I am talking the ones with the cars options from the dealerships.

I didnt think he was correct that cars needed them for judging. Sounded like he was trying to get me to buy his product.

          Thanks

The window sticker (Maroney) Label is not judged in NCRS. Our standard is as the car was delivered by the dealer exclusive of any owner or dealer inspired options but including the standard new car preparation. It is the position of NCRS that standard new car preparation would include removal of the Maroney label.

Other judging organizations draw the line differently, and for some of those you will lose points for not having a "window sticker." So he was not entirely wrong -- one just needs to carefully pay attention to the words used and be sure the speaker and the listener define the words used in the same way.

That is just like "numbers matching."
