EXCELLENT rebuild of my wiper motor by Steve Hackel

My wiper motor has not been doing well for several years, but I very seldom need wipers on the 56, so I've just put off having it rebuilt for a long time.
Several people recommended Steve Hackel, so I sent it to him about 2wks ago. Got it back yesterday, installed it and it looks and works great!
He replated the parts, turned the armature, repaired/adjusted the points,installed new lead wire with terminal and shipped it with lots of packing.
He has my vote for wiper motor rebuilding!

I agree. Steve and Mike both did work for me - Mike rebuilt my Parking Brake switch for my early '61 (try finding one of those).

Steve and Mike are the only two I trust to work on my cars. I happily trailer my cars from Columbus to Cincy for their quality work.

I think Peter and Tim have Steve and Mike Hack Cincinnati confused with Steve Hackel in the Chicago land area.

Yes, Paul has a good point. There is a Steve Hackel who restores wiper/washer motors and a Steve Hack who does the same. Both have good reputations based on my reviewers and the two are often confused, as one might expect.

Fellas, Steve Hackel at Restoration Service in Midlothian, IL 1 708 687-4183 does 90% of the WW restoration in the US. He does Steve Hacks restoration work as I recognized Steve Hackel's work from the pics.

There is none better with WW motors than Restoration Service by Steve HACKEL!!!!

Just found this thread and thought I would post in. Hack and Hackel BOTH do motors, and they both do them very well. There is a slight difference in the plating companies that each use and the luster of the Cadmium parts are different from Hack to Hackel. I have witnessed Dad build thousands over the 20 years that I have been involved with his shop. A highly experienced mechanical judge can look at a wiper motor and within 2 seconds determine which one restored the motor.
