57-58 FI Fuel Filter Bracket

I need a fuel filter bracket for my 58 HD Brake car. Are they being reproduced?

At one time Jim Neufer made them. That's what is on my 56.

John, bracket and filter at Corvette Central. This late '57 was listed under '58 also. I don't know if they are the same.

The repro bracket is nice but will not pass judging. First clue is the "B" logo in wrong place.

I'm not intimate with these but I have photos of '57 FI original pieces owned by a friend. Pic below shows the "B".

early repo brackets lacked the "B" so i'd look for an early repo and let the stamping begin. or look for an original.mike

John, are you stating that the "B" was machine stamped at the same time in the process, so it's always EXACTLY in the same position - and NOT by
Bubba, the plant manager's son-in-law?

Loren, I cannot say or use the term EXACTLY but I can use the word typical. Typically the B is stamped about 2-1/2" from the very edge of where the two holes are drilled for mounting the bracket to the cannister.
To the center line of the "B" to the very edge (facing the water outlet).
I just checked two brackets and both of them have the "B" in the same location.
The repro "B" logo is on the other side of the bend-closest the baseplate mounting holes.
Dr. Mike pointed this out to me many years ago. A few times I tried sanding out the B on the repro but the stamping was sooo deep I couldn't do it.
Maybe Dr. Mike will help us out on this. John
