Took the body off the Frame

First thank you Nolan Ryan.

The frame and everything looked pretty good, the shift is original, and we have the correct engine waiting to go back in.

If anyone wants to see what we found I am posting a link to all the pictures.

Lots of work, the gas tank has at least 3 rotted holes in it.

Strong work! How did you remove the body? Maybe I missed it in my quick scan through the pictures. By the way, you're on the right track with lots of pictures. I think you mean Noland Adams. Did you build his body dolly?

Was there any evidence of the original frame stencil on the outboard passenger's side of the frame?

Seems awfully rusty to me. Be sure to check it thoroughly.

Is there any stamped serial numbers left on the frame on the left rail and kick-up.

Also, looks like the entire bell housing is well painted- must have been redone at some point.

Can not believe I wrote Nolan Ryan, yes I followed his plans to the T. I removed the body with 7 friends.

I can not see it, but there is much rust I am hoping I can still make it out.

My dad pulled the engine and transmission back in the mid 70's. I believe he painted it at that time. The car never made it back to the road after he changed the engine. I was lucky to still have the original.

I am wire brushing it, while I wait to bring it to a blaster. So far so good, it has all been surface rust.

John, It looks like your frame is in about the same condition as my 67. I think a lot of the pictures could be interchangeable with mine. I just got the body off of mine last month, It is now completly dis-assembled and ready for blasting. I looked hard for frame stencils on the right side but I think the surface rust won the battle. I did find the serial number on the left rear. Mine has been sitting (some of the time outside before I got it) since 1982. Are you going to sandblast or soda blast the frame? Good luck with your project. It looks like you might have a lot more body work to do than I have. I suppose I need to become less technology challenged and try to post some pictures.
