i use al knoch's adhesive. its not quite as yellow as original glue but boy does it stick. al also sells an adhesive dispenser which resembles a old fashion oil can with a pump in it. the kit comes with a brush on the end of the applicator. much less messy than any other method i've use. have a happy thanksgiving . mike

Barry Blocher (NCRS member) sells the brushable glue that is (pre)yellowed. I've used it and it works and looks great. It takes three applications before you attach the weatherstrip. Watch him though...he's a pilot.

3M used to sell a brushable cement, but no longer available. Weldwood contact cement, available at Lowes, HD, ACE, etc is a very good substitute. I buy acid brushes to apply it. Looks just like the original and I guarontee it will not turn loose if you use it as directed.

i contacted Al Knoch about the weatherstrip adhesive applicator (can't find my notes) and I believe the applicator pump with brush was $20-$25. Al sells the adhesive in quarts, but can't remember the cost. Sounds like the best way to apply large quantities of the adhesive such as door, trunk weatherstripping. It is a pain to squeeze large quantities out of the metal tubes

I'll second Dick's suggestion. Have used it....it works....appears as original when brushed on and has been through two NCRS Regional judging events with no issues.

O'Riely's had the 3M Super Weatherstrip Adhesive #08002 (Yellow) last time I was there.

John, the yellow is the wrong color. Original was almost clear with a slight tan? tint.

I am with member #14. I bought a quart of Knoch glue this past year and could not believe how easily I put on my coupe door gaskets with it...with doors on using a small brush. And to think I suffered all the years prior trying to use that stuff in a tube. It goes on thin, even and has great holding power.
