    Need Advise on Finding Documentation

I will start with the fact that I know nothing about where to find any Information on my car other then the Selling Dealer, who by the way chooses to ignore my requests. I have a 66 convertible 427/390 all the #s do Match! Bought it in 1974, and it has not been used very much at all since then, no Documentation when I purchased it. I live in MI. and the DMV can't go back that far. The person that I bought if from died many years ago and had recieved no papers when he bought it (had nothing to give to me) What is the next step? Sure would like to get some form of documentation!

I will sure try and help any way I can. PM me the info you have, including the original selling dealer. Perhaps I can find you a contact. It's never a guarantee, but I will try.

Have you met the Sales Manager of the selling dealer face to face? He should be a busy man, even in these times, and you know that he's not going to respond to e-mails and letters. If the dealer is close enough, go meet with the Sales Manager. You might be surprised.

However, don't get your hopes up with the dealer. The records are probably long gone. But at least you'll know.

After you have exhausted this lead, then you can join the rest of us who are doing the same thing you're doing. Let Tom help, and follow any leads that the membership might give you (I got some great information). If you get switched over to the "dealer" page of NCRS, reword your questions and post them here, where everyone is.

Most of the pay web sites do not have access to records that go back far enough for us, and they're really not geared for us anyway. The final step may be to hire a PI, but so far I'm resisting that.
