Here's a pic of an unrestored 63 that shows the correct routing of the tube and hose. It's the black/saddle Z06 conv. (could be John Hinckley's picture? can't remember)
Notice the 45degree PCV fitting is not blackened as the rusty PCV is/was.

Hey Jorjorian, Tell us how many diamonds to the inch on the real deal hose. Or your imput on real deal hose.
      Thanks, JD
      JD,
as I told you before there are 4 1/2 diamonds per inch.
Modern hose is different. Years ago GM sold it in a foot long piece under its own part number. I probably still have some but its buried in boxes.
The steel tube was plated zincad NOT painted black.
      Hope the pic helps,Bob

Wow!!! Thanks RJ for nice Thanksgiving present to the gang here.
Now that is what the PC hose is supposed to look like. Much appreciated I am sure.
I bought this hose from Chevy in late 70's as I recall. Wish I had bought more. 4-1/2 diamonds per inch = neat. JD

          John,

My 45 degree fitting on the plenum is black phosphate or some other form of coating on it and is starting to show handling wear at the edges. My car is a 10/16/62 build and from Noland's book he makes reference to it. I think it's original to my unit.

I could spend quite a bit of time studying that engine compartment. Really nice pic. Answers a TON of questions.

            Thanks,
