    '67 Parking Brake problem

The release button on my '67 parking brake lever has decided it's not going to pop back out and allow the brake to be engaged. In other words, the button stays in, and the brake is always disengaged. The lever is a recent Paragon replacement, less than six months old. Does anyone have any suggestions other than to replace the lever (again)?

    thanks,
    Bob

Even if the button stays in the parking brake is released by lowering the handle. The problem is that the handle will not stay up, keeping the brake engaged. Without seeing it, it's hard to know what is wrong but my guess is that either the rod that is attached to the button is bent and jammed or the spring inside is boken.
