1972 right rear storage compartment

I have not been able to locate a replacement compartment made of fiber w/flocking. They were available at one time. I have tried Paragon, Dr Rebuild, Corvette Central, and EC Products. They all have the plastic w/flocking and/or a felt lining. I'm not sure how the plastic one would stand up to judging. Any thoughts?

Does anyone know were I can find a new fiber replacement or a good used one.

Hi Jerry. You need to keep an eye out on ebay + other similar sites plus be on the look out at swap meets. I don't think anyone is making the original 6.5" deep fiberboard tray with flocking. Later in the '70s, the tray was shortened by approx 1', which kept the tray from being damaged when the jack was stored wrong, so when you do find a flocked fiberboard tray, make sure it's the deep version or the judges will come down on you.

There's also a date stamp on the bottom of most trays. shift/month/day/year? is the code. More informaation on the tray can be found in a Restorer tech article I wrote in (I think) summer 2009. Let me know if you can't find it. I have the file and can/will email it to you for your consideration.

I agree on checking ebay or contact John Waluk @ 516-796-2984. He restores them and can probably supply one.

Jerry, I bought a deep tray for my 1970 Corvette from John Waluk last year for $132.00. The tray was perfectly restored and properly dated.
