54 transmission output shaft washer

Does the output shaft have a thick washer inside and was the special bolt used ( permits a small amount of fluid to pass through) like the passenger car output shaft. The yoke and output shaft fit fine on the bench but installed the yoke wont slide into place and seems too tight. It shoud slide together easily I would think.

There is a washer and bolt that hold the output shaft in place.
The housing then bolts on.
