61 Blower Motor Wire

Hi All,

How long should the brown wire from the heater blower motor be?

I am hooking up the motor on my 61 and the wire would be longer enough if streched and connected to the the back of the switch. The AIM showes the wire routing behind the defroster bracket that holds the defroster hose.

The wire on my blower motor is 14". I have checked the usual sources for an extension cable but no one has one so I am thinking the wire should be longer.

One other question, what does the terminal that connects to the switch look like? Is it a plain female push on terminal or a plastic connector? If a plastic connector, what color is it?

Dennis, the connector is open female that accepts the male spade.

That was exactly what I needed. My wire has the same terminal on it, but it is going to be too short to route like that.

The original brown wire on my '59 measures 20 inches.

John, Bill,

Wanted to thank you guys again. I replaced my blower motor wire over the weekend and reinstalled the motor back in the car. With the longer length wire everything fit together just like the photo.
