Well I took a vacation day today, beautiful weather (low 70's and sunny), pull the 67 out of the garage, while getting out I see the driver rear tire tread is separated, so no go.

Back in the house, and got on the phone with Diamond Back Tire Company.

So glad it separated sitting in the garage--I last drove it about 6 weeks ago.

I was getting ready to replace the tires because of age--I should have done it this spring when I repainted the wheels (which would have been a much easier job with no tires on the rims).

If you bought H or better speed rated tires with nylon cap belts this kind of failure would be highly unlikely.

I just don't understand why guys keep buying "cheap" (not necessarily price) tires and care only about styling.

S-rated tires are JUNK! They could cost you your car or even your life.
