By memory, The "Power Book" would cover engine building and some chassis work. The performance parts book would cover parts description and numbers. However if my memory was good I could find those books. If your book has the description of the motor and carb please give me a call. Bill, Thanks!

        John,

I have the complete parts list for the 3965774 LS7 engine assy. Not just the one in the HD book but the sheets from engineering. Includes EVERY part of the assembly, including block plugs, dowel pins and bolts etc. I can post it if I can get my scanner to work.

Thanks! I have received PP # 2& 3. Both have a good write up on the LS7. The carb was in later Performance Parts Books so I wil continue to look. Have a great weekend.

the 7046904 carb in the performance book is not what is used on the 69 350/350 as that was 7029207. it may be a replacement for the 207 carb. i should have the specs for the 207 if that will help.

The LS-7 was the stillborn successor to the L/88. Basically it was an L/88 with a longer arm in it. The later '69 512 blocks had reliefs cut in the bottom of the cylinders for rod bolt clearance that was required for the 454 crank

The LS-7 was listed as an option for the '70 Corvette, but never made it into production.

There was a '68 or '69 Vette near here that had an assembled LS-7 in it. Had a little head work, etc as it was being built. You could not do the 2-3 powershift as it would turn around in the road with you. Would light the rear tires, for a short distance, when you did a 3-4 powershift. That car has now been restored to it's original configuration (L/88) and is/was for sale at a well known Corvette dealer.

7046904 was a SERVICE part number for a carburetor for 1968-69 small block applications. It was an on-box part number and, as far as I know, not an on-carb part number. Usually, the carburetor in the box was a GM #7029207 but that may have changed at certain times over the years of its availability.

I have GM Performance Parts Catalog #1 (and every catalog since). While there is no date on this catalog, I believe it was released sometime in the 1985-88 period. There is no listing in the #1 catalog for any carburetor, GM #7046904 or otherwise. I can't find any carburetor listing in any of a few of the subsequent catalogs that I took a moment to scan through.

There may have been earlier performance parts catalogs. However, if so, they were not released under the banner of "GM Performance Parts", per se. They may have been GMSPO performance parts catalogs released before the GM Performance Parts Division of GMSPO was instituted.
