Parking brake cable seal @ firewall

According to the assy manual there is a seal (3781105) where the parking brake cable goes thru the firewall. The vendors I checked with only sell a grommet for that application and the one I bought was too large for the hole in the firewall. How have others sealed up this area?

As I remember the seal is on the inside of the firewall and is sandwiched between the firewall and the parking brake pull handle assembly inside the car. There is no seal on the outside of the firewall surface.

My 65 Assy Manual page E139 (UPC 5 C1) view D shows the seal on the engine side of the firewall. Mine had no seal either inside or out. Also, I can't find a vendor who sells the proper seal so I assume there is an alternate way to seal water from coming in the hole where the parking brake cable passes thru the firewall. What have others done?
