    windshield wiper transmission linkage

Am I to assume there is supposed to be no "play" in the connection from the wiper motor to the linkage bracket? The hole doesn't seem to be worn out, but it does turn slightly on the motor stud which is new. Was wondering if this was by design? When I checked the assembly manual there didn't seem to be a detail for that specific area.
    Thanks

That hole does look a little worn to me. Maybe it is the angle, but that's what i see.

So it should be tight on the stud then? There is some slop where the wiper linkage arms connect to the rotating stud. I just dont have anything to compare it to since it has been this way since I got the car.

There are some on ebay do not know how good they are but you never know on the bay.

ebay # 120807129893 corvettemack does sell at Carlisle and other swap meets. This is not an endorsement for the part or him just information.

190590574738 I do not know who this is.

Sorry Scott, but I do not know of a source. Wear of that rectangular hole is a fairly common problem on most GM cars with extended use, but I would bet that piece is unique to Corvette.

                My 70 has no slop.

I have purchased from corvette mack and had good experiences.

Thanks for all the information guys! Could any of you that have a 72 maybe take a pic of that part that is original on the car? One of the issues that had arose in this restoration process was that the prior owner had replaced the original wiper motor with one from a later model and I had no idea until I sent it in to get it refurbished. Also noticed that one of the wiper arms is from a later model. So I am not sure what is original and what is not as far as the wiper mechanism goes. I wish there was a better detail in the assembly manual.
                  Thanks a bunch!
