    Judging Date Codes

    Hi All,

My question is date codes for the parts of the engine. My block is dated June ,but the alternator is Feburary of the same year. Is there a time period in which a judge will deduct points ?

The accepted date for most parts is 6 months prior. That is not always typical, but it is accepted.

they did not always install the oldest parts first. they grabbed what was first on the shelf not careing about date codes. its possible an alternator was buryed in a pile and it took that long to get to the bottom and use all the parts up. possible but not probable. the majority of the parts on my june70 lt1 were may and june parts. alternator, starter, and carb were may parts. if i found a february part on the car i would not be supprised.

Mike I thought that was the case with the part. June 4 on the block ,May 31 on the intake. Want to start a part number search on each component and hope to get this car judged the up coming year.
