68 Distributor Id Band

The # on my identification band reads 1111477 but i see in the judging manual it only shows a 1111438 band. Is 1111477 a rare piece or a wrong piece for a 327-350 h.p. june "68" engine.

Welcome Jeff. Distributors are sure not my specialty, but my book shows the 1111477 as a 2nd design number used on 68 327 / 350.

Thanks Tom for the good news on my question. The 1968-69 second edition winter 1997 corvette technical informatoin manual and judging guide that came with my car does not have that information, time for a current edition.

Hi Jeff,

I would wait a couple of months on the purchase of a '68/'69 TJM as it is being redone and should be out early in 2012.

I think a better time estimate would be after the next National Convention. We usually do not introduce a new manual before a National Convention. It tends to raise the owner's collective blood pressure.
