    69 427/435 radiator type

    I recently purchased a `69 Corvette that is originally a 427/435 4-speed car.
The original radiator has been changed over to a Dewitt's, but I would like to get the original type radiator back in the car.

Would it have originally been an aluminum or copper/brass design, and how many rows of tubes?

    TIA

All 1969 big blocks, except L-88 and ZL-1, originally used a copper brass radiator. I'm not sure how many rows of tubes it had.

The DeWitts aluminum "Direct Fit" replacement for the above is very similar in configuration to the original radiator and has a much higher cooling capacity. In fact, it has a greater cooling capacity than ANY radiator ever originally installed in a Corvette from 1953 to 2012.

Thanks Joe for clarifying the usage between aluminum and brass/copper.
I realize the Dewitts is a better piece than the GM one, but I am trying to make the car look close to original.

It will look close to original with the DeWitts Direct Fit if it's painted black as the originals were.
