    Diff Crossmember Cushions -replace?

Any reason to or not to replace the differential crossmember cushions? Everything is out of the car so no issue there. I would think since they are at least partly rubber I would replace them but maybe there's a reason to leave them alone too.
    Thanks,
    Jack

I think it's a good idea to replace them when the crossmember is out of the car and the cushions long in-service.

The only reason not to replace them is that they can be difficult to remove and replace. But, like they say...no pain, no gain.

Thanks Joe. Do you just try to bang them out from the bottom of the crossmember, i..e are they simply pressed in?

Jack, read this. There are many threads on this, but this one hits the fundamentals.

An acquaintance with a C3 decided to change out his crossmember bushings based on external physical appearance. Removal and installation of the bushings was a giant PIA to say the least. He cut apart the old bushing to see how deep the cracking and deterioration went and found only minimal damage.

Here's the discussion from that other board, ignore the fluff about the aftermarket 'pucks'

C3 Tech/Performance - Diff crossmember bushings - I've got some nasty looking bushing, rubber is cracked. Does the Reinforcing kit negate them or do I still need to replace them with new ones? I have the cross member out already as I'm installing the dual mount rear spring.
