    54 Emergency Brake Cable Finish

    I am in the process of reassembly of the frame and had a minor detail question regarding the emergency brake cable finish. Understanding there was a black-out process on the factory line - am I to assume the front and 2 rear brake cables were painted black? This would hold true for the mounting brackets, outer spiral casing, and the inner cable???
    Searched the archieves but somehow missed any previous postings that would have covered this..

      My brake cables (3) were unpainted, frame was painted before hardware attached, front crossmember was blacked as assembled unit. My cables have a cad finish.

          Thank you Lynn - that is what I expected but was not certain. Appreciate the advise. Was holding off on installing them until I had some direction so now I have a project for the weekend!

              Does anyone restore these cables if the mounting at the drum is broken?
