Was the 36 gallon tank in 63-67 Corvettes painted, primed or just bare fiberglass from the factory?

Re: 36 gallon tank question
Jimmy -- Glad to hear that they can be built (or existing restored ?) So far so good.
Here's an eBay pic of an NOS 36 gal sender # 5462798 (box dated 1/65) many years ago; went for $ 811. I also had an NOS unit that I bought off the local Corvette shop; probably ordered the wrong type for standard tank back in the day when these were still available.
For those who are not familiar with these, there is no pickup, no sock, just a float and a rheostat. The tube that supports the float swing apparatus is pinched off at the mounting flange. I sold it to someone in NCRS, (delivered it to Cypress meet) back in the '80s / early '90s ?Attached Files- Top

Re: 36 gallon tank question
I'm a little surprised that none of the N03/36.5 gallon tank guys haven't commented/disagreed with my previous post where I stated that "some of the tanks show heavy interior color overspray".
I thought everyone was of the opinion that the tank covers were in place during the interior paint process which would have prevented paint on the tank.- Top
