    1967 A.O. Smith Big Block Corvette ?

Has anyone ever seen a big block 1967 Corvette with an A.O. Smith trim tag ? I saw in Nolans book a few came out early in production but the one were looking at is a very very late car. Thanks

Sounds like a small block that has undergone a heart transplate.

This corvette has been for sale for a long time! If you read what the knowledgeable guys on the board have written in the link that Jack posted you will see that the car is most likely not an original BB corvette.

I really didn't mean to throw the question off topic with the link to this specific car that was recently discussed. But I just wanted to make sure that Steve wasn't talking about a specific car and it end up being this one.

I'm guessing Steve is looking for a general answer to the "Do A.O. Smith BB '67 Corvettes Really Exist?" as stated in his original post. I'd like to know the definitive answer as well.

I don't know the answer, but I'd guess from what I've read, that many around here would say "No"???

John Hinckley told us at the NCRS National in Novi about the inability of AOS to paint the hood stripe as the reason that BB 67's did not come out of Ionia Mi.

The real question here is has anyone seem one ? On page 384 of Nolans book, Corvette Restoration Tech guide Vol 2, he's writes that big block bodies were produced at both sources. He states that less than 10 percent were built at A.O. Smith.

What do 67 AOS big blocks, 67 small blocks with big block hoods, bigfoot, loch ness monster, and an honest politician have in common?

Answer: There may be rumors of their existence, but no one has provided credible proof.

Believe nothing you hear, a very small part of what you read, and only one half of what you see.

Keep in mind that Noland's book was written a number of years ago... A very fine reference but we do keep learning more as time goes on...
