Neat old picture I found today

Thought I'd share this with you all since you guys appreciate this stuff. Being a history nut, I was at our local historical society today and was just walking through the museum. Upstairs on a shelf, I found this old picture just screaming for me to look at it.

It's a picture of a local doctor on Easter Sunday of 1963. Looks to be a white 63 coupe. Just thought it was cool.

Back of the photo read Easter Sunday 1963. Ralph J Beare MD

Cool old pic, Tom. Thanks for sharing. First 63 Coupe I ever saw was owned by a Doctor from New Bern, N.C. Dr. Bell, a gold 63. Mike

Thanks for the pic Tom! That was in the "good old days" when police would usually let a speeding car go IF it was a Dr's.

I just thought it was neat. As a 63 owner it really caught my eye. The place I spotted it was the last place I would have thought to find a pic like that.

Back in 65, the 63 was the first Vette I ever rode in. "Caught the 'fever", owned over 30 of them since.

Hey Tom, Saw that pic and remembered I had a picture too back from Easter Sunday 1963. That's my Mom with my three sisters and me in the back of the 63 Corvette Split Window Fuel Injected Coupe getting ready to go to Church. 1963 was a while back. Save the Wave.

No pictures but I was at the Amoco Station next door to the Chevy dealer around Easter '63, my Sr. year, when a '63 white split window with fuel was unloaded and the driver of the Complete AutoTransport carrier ask the owner if if he would put the Corvette inside the wash rack for the night as the dealership was closed. Guess he thought it would be safer than an open lot and probably had no thoughts of anyone driving the Corvette around the pumps a few times after he left. I'll never forget the sound of those solid lifters or the smell of the interior. The tires were blackwalls and the ectentric owner later removed the flippers on the hubcaps?? True story.

You sure sent me scrambling furiously through my records!! I used to own a white SWC that had been bought new by a doctor. The one in your photo isn't my old car, but for a minute there......

I too have a white split window and thought about where it was purchased originally. Don't have much info about the car before 1970.

I got a whole bunch of pictures of my 63 when new, but most are black and white (really new - day of delivery type). I have a lot of Kodachrome Slides, but I wouldn't know how to download them. The few color prints that I do have are from at White Sands, NM by the Missle Park, and out on the desert just before sunset. We thought it was cool to turn on the amber parking lights then as they were unique. And yes, my car did have blackwalls then. These prints are mounted in my document book along with all the original papers, and a few bar bills from old Juarez (Whoopy Town!).

I'll see if I can get them out w/o wrecking them and copy them some how.
