57 grill oval repair

Can the crack in my grill oval be repaired for my 57,and who can do it.

Tony, as far as I know the grille oval on '53 thru '57 Corvettes is made of pot metal. I did not have any cracks in the oval of my '56 but I did have some gouges filled. I would check with the folks who will do your chrome plating. When the see it, they should be able to tell you if it can be repaired or not. I had my plating done at S & H Chrome Plating and Powder Coating in Nashville, TN. Good luck with your restoration. Brooks Glover (2141)

Tony, Paul's Chrome has done it. They are excellent for repairs, reconstructing, and chrome, both factory and show. It will be more expensive than a repro, but it will also look better.

I had the grill oval of my 57 repaired. It was broken at the bottom. Janet at the Bumper Depot in CA did the work. It doesn't fit anymore even though we made sure it fit before it left! She won't stand behind it or any of the cruddy polishing work she did, and I had to buy a new grill!

EXCELLENT work.
Prices are not cheap - but workmanship is show quality
