    Stock 70 LT-1 on Engine Dyno

    Thought I would post this neat thread that was posted on NastyZ28 board. Engine made 400 HP with race carb and 378 HP with stock carb.

    ...looks/sounds like any other dyno run. The torque/power curves would be a lot more useful along with details of the configuration including anything beyond OE like massaged heads, cam, CR, etc.

    I find it hard to understand how a "racing carb" could make nearly six percent more power when the OE 780 CFM center pivot Holley is already oversized for the the displacement unless there was something wrong with the way it was set up. For the same flow rates the difference between a vacuum secondary and "double pumper" mechanical secondary carb should be nil.
