I believe that the backs have a PMC or HC stamping on them but I cannot remember which were assembly line and which were NOS. I do know that assembly line caps are more maroonish in color where the NOS ones are bright red.

      John -

I have an NOS cap still in the original GM box (dated 1/75), label P/N 3910731. The large finned casting has "552243" cast in above "3910732" and the "HC" logo, and the cap has "552244" cast in above "3908161" with the "PMG" logo. The cap is attached with four black 1/4" hex-head screws with a triangle headmark.

        John,

I bought a set of original bolt-ons from Paul Pierce a few years back. He indicated to me at the time that the "hc" cap markings are the original - manufactured in 66/67 bolt-ons. He further explained that the GM-authorized repops in the very early 70s had the "pmc" stamping.

          John,

Would you be able to post a picture of the cap?

          Thanks,

          Bob K.

I have a couple of originals in very nice condition.
Also have 3 or 4 original center caps and some original clips and attachment screws.
