    Measuring ride height differently

Is there a way to check correct ride height, or more accurately perhaps suspension geometry, by measure something within the suspension itself and not using the ground to point on frame method from the Assembly Manual which is thrown off by slightly different sized tires or hard to correctly measure if you car has side pipes.
    Thanks,
    Jack

There should be a dimension near the front of your AIM called the Z dimension for the front. That is the dimension between the center of the inner control arm bushing and the bottom of the lower ball joint. You are essentially measuring the "tilt" of the lower control arm. That removes wheel and tire size as well as body work from the equation.

There is a similar measurement for the rear of the car as well. At least there is for C2 and C3 Corvettes and I ass Ume that is what you are working on since you mention side mounted exhaust.
