    Hardtop weatherstripping

Does anybody have instructions on how to replace all the weatherstripping on a hardtop?

    Thanks, Steve

The header and around the door windows is pretty straight forward so I assume you mean the rear deck. This is a one piece gasket which includes where the hardtop meets the deck lid and around the rear window. This is not an easy job but can be done. I would only do it if replacing the rear window, full hardtop resto, or if it was in VERY bad shape. Good luck, Don H.

        Re: Hardtop weatherstripping

Thanks for the replys. The part that concerns me is the side rail vertical weatherstrip as it appears to be riveted to the side window retainer. Is that correct? How do I remove the retainer which appears to be riveted in place also? Any suggestions?

        Thanks,
        Steve

A number of rivits on the C1 hardtops are stainless steel. They are very difficult to drill and you will find some of them bent over not bucked.
To replace them with stainless rivits is just as if not more difficult then removing them.
That is why you see pop rivits on many hardtops.

              Thanks Phillip and Bruce,

Now I have the information I need to proceed (carefully) with replacing the weatherstriping.
