repair headlight door screw hole on 70

At one time a screw broke off in one of the tapped holes used to attach the plastic bezel to the door. I finally got the screw out but now the threads are destroyed.

Can the hole be drilled out and heli-coiled? What about using JB weld to fill he hole and re-tap. The hole is very shallow so I am not sure a tap will work.

The paint is brand new so added caution is required.

Loctite makes a very good product to repair threads. It is called Thread Repair. It is an epoxy with a thread release agent to put on the fastener. You mix the epoxy and line the hole with it, then put release agent on the fastener and screw it in. When the epoxy sets up you can remove/replace the fastener at will
