    Paul,
Great to see another guy driving his fuelie.
Mine is a 57 250 HP Powerglide car.
When I broke in the engine I did use LL100 and the car ran great.
Since then, 2 years 4300 miles ago I have been using Shell 93 with ethanol. Here in Ohio stations do not have to show that ethanol is in the gas but I'm sure it is.
The car never percolates, always starts and according to JD my 4360 unit #136 is a POC...
I use the 1 piece 1/8" intake gasket.
But it is sure fun to drive.

Hi Bursten, Try and behave. Don't listen to everything that JD guy tells you. A good mechanic can make a '4360 run as you well know.
Gail Parsons was the worlds best '4360 man. He loved those units and spent most of his life proving to the world that they could be made to run like a clock. That JD guy only spent 1/2 of his life on them then he gave up. Glad to see you are having fun with your car.
It's the crappy fuel giving us all the grief. Only going to get worse.
My friend Tom Barr lives in AZ. He told me last week that his state is definitely going to have 15% ethanol in short order.
      But the way it's 100LL not LL100.

Be real careful about talking about 100LL, there are those that never used it and think they are getting the power the engine was designed to give.

Funny how they can give their opinions and have NEVER used 100LL.

Then again some never experianced the 60's power with the correct fuel. When some bought their cars they used the lesser fuel in them and thought they were getting all the engine had to offer.

And again some think 200 HP is 300 HP.

            John,
regarding our phone conversation a few weeks ago regarding some surging/missing at cruise, my problem turned out to be totally the fault of those "wonderful" dated LL wires. I swapped them out for a set of Belden's and it immediately ran like a champ. I'm never going back to those things again. Thanks again for your ear. Your willingness to help is a credit to our hobby.

              Paul,

Great story and equally great pictures. Love the Saddle/Saddle cars and since I do own a 63 Coupe that is Saddle/Saddle, why would I think anything else? Congratulations on the miles driven and the courage it takes to drive today's roads with so many "meat heads" on the road that all think they are in a NASCAR race. I too from time to time use the 100LL and enjoy all it offers. Recently found a gas station in my area that sells 93 w/o ethanol (Liberty Stations). Wish you many more miles and smiles. Dan K.
