No beating the crap out of the wheels to get them to stay on and they look great. If it were me, I'd try to get the dealer to exchange those wheels and get what you originally thought you were getting. IMHO, you will enjoy the car a whole lot more. Dan
Yeah, u'r right Dan...there are a hell of a lot of things that the dealer said he was going to do that didn't happen either...just spent $1,600 to cover some of those...the Dealer said twice he was going to check the A/C Freon, it arrived here w/ 0.75 lb. installed & needed 3 lbs added....like, I really expected more from a used car dealer....hate to think what would have (not) happened if I hadn't gone to Florida to complete the sale.

When I saw the pix of the rub marks on the backside of the subject KO wheel, lightning struck.

Thirty plus years ago when I first put Western KOs on our '65 the LF wheel rubbed on the caliper when tightened. I never could ascertain "why" the interference. Since both LH KOs rubbed the caliper I assumed it is the Corvette that has the problem, not the wheel. Solution: I installed a thin wheel spacer behind the adapter which is still there today. No problems with loosening spinners (use no pins).

Our '65 is a roadie of unknown history before we got it. I hold the belief that all early Corvettes are built to +/- tolerances and mine just came up on the bad side of tolerances that seem more critical for KO wheels than steel wheels.

Peter: Hope that you solved your issue. Guys, need some help. I have reproduction KOs too. My right rear wheel has a slight angle to it. How do I safely ensure my wheels are tight?
