Re: FI air hose
Gary, You are most welcome. Now for a tip for the gang here regarding that 63/64 hose.
Although we judges love to see a nice original at the shows you would be doing yourself a favor if you only used that hard as a rock hose for judging. When driving put a repro on. The repros are quite presentable and the rubber is soft. The hose acts like a shock absorber you know and the hard original is only going to cause damage.
Another thought on the original hoses. My 63, the LWC has an original. I mean it has a big kink and you couldn't get it to flex with a hammer. But should it be on a restored vehicle? Well if it was then one might get full credit for being original but you should get a ding on condition as they didn't come out of St. Louis with a well aged hose on it.
The hard original should be on a bow-tie car.
But WDIK. JD- Top

Re: FI air hose
john: do you think the early hoses(the hard ones) left st louis bent into a non-straightenable condition. i have several on my midyear FI's some i've owned since 1970, whene they were as hard as a teenager's pride and joy and couldn't be straightened..mike- Top

Re: FI air hose
Mike,
I have an original 63 hose that is probably less flexible than the air cleaner it would be attached to.It also is permanently badly kinked. I believe that, even if I could get it on, something would break the first time I revved the engine....
