    Charging issue

The needle on my amp meter is sitting just below 0 and doesn't show charging even when I rev the engine. It does show a discharge when the brakes are applied or the lights are turned on. Does this sound more like a grounding issue or regulator issue?

Have the charging system checked by someone with an AVR .

The gauge may not B accurate .

        Changed voltage regulator, no joy.
Had the old generator and stuck it back on and is now charging.
Guess I'll have generator rebuilt. Generator was last thing I would thought of since it is a fairly recent Pirkle generator, but anything mechanical can fail at any time. Stuff just happens. At least I now have a new regulator.

          Did you polarize the VR?
