After returning from the Powerglide repair shop and removing several parts under the dash, the mystery, plastic washer and steel wavy washer appeared on the floor mat. What is this pin and where does it belong?

Re: 1960 Mystery Pin
John, I searched the 1960 AIM cowl vent page for a pin with two washers, but can not find one. The cowl vent is functioning properly.
I had my PG tranny rebuilt last week, but I don't remember seeing the bolt in the floorboard when I picked it up and there is no missing pin on the PG linkage that I am aware of.
Side note on PG rebuild - the 80 year old mechanic said it would not leak when he was finished with it, but it is leaking from one bolt that holds the servo cover in place and has already saturated several other gaskets, just not leaking from those yet. I am not surprised that is it already leaking. That is right in line with several other C1 owners who reported leaks after having PG rebuilt. One out of four respondents reported that the PG stopped leaking, other 3 reported leaks after rebuild.- Top

Re: 1960 Mystery Pin
Joe,
I just went out and looked under the drivers side in my car and I can not see anything that resembles what you show. Since they worked on your transmission, could it be from the linkage somewhere?

Re: 1960 Mystery Pin
Joe,
Mystery solved! Your pin is from your convertible top frame. Attached is a pic that shows how it and the washers fit. All you need is a C-clip to go in the groove to hold it in.
