Where the black stripes on the front end/hood on these ZL-1's applied at the factory?

The short answer is yes. It is shown in the 69 AIM.

There is such a small database, it's hard to say anything with any real conviction. The yellow car is restored but its stripe is consistant with the AIM.

Too bad they didn't offer just the stripe as an option. At least that would have been affordable.
