I am installing a new CC exhaust system on my early 1958 Corvette. So far the piping is fitting just fine. The hanger Kit was bought 8-10 years ago. The rear hangers (behind the differential) do not bolt on to the frame brackets. I would have to modify the hangers so they bolt on. Anyone else run into this? Or is there another vendor that has hangers that fit?

Re: C1 Exhaust Hangers
Dennis, I have been wondering the thing before I purchase the rear hangars for my 1960. Corvette Central Part No. 321213 appears to be what we need, but that part number is for a 1961-1962. Part No. 321212 is the 56-60 Over the Axle hangar kit, but it looks no different than the x-member hangar.
Can someone post a couple of photos to show us what we need? Or help us understand how this hangar by itself bolts onto the rear frame bracket?- Top

Re: C1 Exhaust Hangers
Dennis & Joe,
I have loosely installed the CC off road (round muffler) kit on my early '57. The engine is not in the chassis yet so it isn't all tightened up, but I had remnants of the original hangers to go by. Everything seems to line up well with the rear frame hangers ahead of the frame brackets, not behind as your pics indicate. The end of the strap with the offset hole goes to the frame as you have it, just flip the assy around to place it forward and I think it'll work.
And BTW, the X-member hangers are the same, just have the addition of that "L" shaped bracket which mounts to the frame X-member to which the strap attaches.
Good luck.- Top

Photo below is the only one I have of a '58 rear hanger (left side, from rear). I believe '61-'62 hang straight down from the rear wall of the frame crossmember.Attached Files- Top
