    starting problem 67 L68

    Hi,
Yesterday I had a problem starting my 67' L68. The started didn't engage at all, I jumped the contacts ok the started and it fired up fine and has started normally since. Do I need a new starter solenoid? Starter? Help!!!
    Thanks

Have you ever changed the starter brushes or inspected them?

In addition to the brushes as mentioned the copper contact areas in the solenoid could be pitted. Did you pull thes apart and check? The contacts can be turned around to provide a new surface. The copper plate on most can also be reversed. Just clean up the pitted part.
