The vent window frame hinge has separated from the frame (drivers side) on my 65 Coupe. Any suggestions where I might get this repaired. I'm looking for a location in the Pacific North West or British Columbia for repairs, if possible. Or a good used replacement. There seems to be lots for convertables, but coupes seem sparce.

Re: Vent Window Frame repair, 65 Coupe
remove the vent assembly from the door, remove the vent window glass, drill a couple of holes thru the vent glass frame( the area that the hinge normally covers, then mig weld the hinge back onto the vent glass frame thru the holes you drilled. mike- Top

Re: Vent Window Frame repair, 65 Coupe
Hi Paul. ha ha, thanks for the nudge. I do have a mig, but my skills are far from professional. I've welded thin material before and as you said it not rocket science, but when you not doing it every day I think the professional might be the way to go. I'd hate to create more work than I need.
How hard is it to remove the glass from the frame....we are talking 45+ years in the frame.- Top

The glass is a press fit, but I think there is an adhesive strip in there. Try a heat gun to warm the trim, then patiently work the glass out.- Top
