I recently received a Chapter Top Flight for my 96 corvette. One on the deducts was for the MAF which has the wrong part #.My question is that on top of the sensor is a sticker with an 11 didgit # and a bar code, and nowhere is the correct part#.So,I purchased a correct MAF(I HOPE)still in the AC DELCO box with a different 11 didgit# and bar code, but still no part# on the unit!!All the judging manual says is that the part# should be 25008308 213-252.Does anyone know what the correct 11 didgit# on the sticker should be??

Re: Mass Air Flow Sensor
Nick, I am forwarding you two photos, which does not address the number you have been using from the Judging Manual. What page of the Judging Manual are you getting this number? In using my Manual the Mass Airflow Sensor is addressed on page 136, but no number is identified.
Possibly the Judges have accumulated a number from the Judging at other Meets.
Do you have a LT1 or LT4?
The first photo is off a LT1 - 1996, taken with 5,000 miles on the odometer.
The second photo is off my LT1. I feel that mine is an original, as I had 25,000 miles on the odomter when I purchased it.PAT, Central New Jersey and Florida Chapters- Top

I had occasion to judge a low mileage LT4 at the Pittsburgh Chapter Meet in the Spring. I used the manual the Chapter had as I don't usually judge C4s. I found the MAF numbered differently than the manual. Sadly I no longer have the numbers nor did I take a picture. Since this has come up here I would suggest that this is an area of the manual that may need some review.Terry- Top

The correct GM # is 25008308 & new is NLA, just reman.
The AC Delco current # is 213-3457.
I'm afraid you've wasted your money, but, maybe you can create your own
sticker.- Top

Re: Mass Air Flow Sensor
The new MAF came in a box with the correct AC part #s on it,but without those #s on the unit anywhere, and different 11 digits on the bar code sticker how can you tell if it's correct??Are you saying that the correct ACpart # should be on the sticker??If so,how do we explain the previous pictures with those orig. units with different sticker #s??- Top

Re: Mass Air Flow Sensor
I too am confused by this. The untouched MAS on my 96 LT4 does not have the numbers as shown by the manual, at least not that I can see. It also does not appear to have a red plate on top of it as stated by the manual.Attached Files- Top

Re: Mass Air Flow Sensor
Gentlemen;
The 1995 GM Parts Manual shows the following:
1995 - LT1-25008308 (incls snsr and 2 clamps) (AC Delco #213-252)
By using a dental mirror I located some numbers under the Mass Air Flow Sensor on my 1995 LT1. However, I could not read them as they were very small and the eyes do not have it anymore. I counted two groups of digits, one being five and the second being 4 digits and could make out a zero in the fourth digit, but that was all I could determine.
I will be at the DelVal Chapter Meet this Sunday and will discuss this with individuals with a lot more experienced than I.PAT, Central New Jersey and Florida Chapters- Top

If the part number listed is for an assembly (sensor & 2 clamps) it is unlikely that is the number for just the sensor alone. Joe Lucia will know more about this, however.Terry- Top

Re: Mass Air Flow Sensor
Gentlemen, after about 45 picture attempts, this is the best I could get while the Mass Air Flow Sensor was still on the Corvette.
If the picture is not clear enough, the first five digits are 94200.
I feel that this is a Julian Date Code of July 19, 1994. My Corvette has a build date of August 4, 1994-Julian Date -216. The Julian Date on the Sensor pretty much falls in line with my build date.
The remaining digits could be 0240 2 to me but for sure they are not the numbers shown in the Judging Manual and in the GM Parts Book.PAT, Central New Jersey and Florida Chapters- Top

Re: Mass Air Flow Sensor
Gentlemen, this is sort of a follow up to our discussion.
I advised that I would present the facts of no numbers on the Mass Air Flow Sensor to some Master Judges at the DelVal Chapter Meet in West Chester, PA today.
Well on the way a New Jersey deer decided that he wanted to sit on my hood and took out the right pop up light. This was 5:30 in the morning on a dark rural road. So, no trip to the Chapter Meet. Have some damage, no injuries and every thing can be fixed.
I did discuss this situation with a Master Judge and it is going to be forwarded to the National Judging Team for review.

I should be seeing many (most?) of the C4 team in Frisco in two weeks, but I am not sure I can adequately convey the meat of the issue.Terry- Top
