    Water Leak Into Heater Ducts

    Hi Folks,
First Time On Boards... Thanks In Advance!!
Every Time It Rains Or I Wash My 64 Hardtop I Get Water That Leaks Out Of The Heater /air Ducts Of The Passenger Side Onto The Floor Mats.
I Have Removed The Air Louvers Under The Windshield Washers And Looked For Obvious Areas Of Trouble But No Such Luck. Any Ideas???
The Car Has Factory Air... Maybe This Is Pertinent.
    Thanks Again,
    Dan

    Dan -

Can you see exactly where the water is coming from, or is it just wetting the carpet below the kickpad vent grille?

Yes, It Is Actually Coming Out Of The Air Duct (joint) That Runs Beneath The Glove Box - (pass. Side Obviously).
      Thanks For Responding!!

Re: Water Leak Into Heater Ducts

Here is one area that may be your problem.

If the windshield area is not sealed properly then water will run down birdcage into this area. As you can see the birdcage is spaced back from the fiberglass body and water will just run into the interior. Most C2's leak in the rain.

Now if your run a bead of caulk from the inside (removal of duct stuff) in that area the water can be stopped however that does not prevent water damage to cage.
