    63-67 bucket rollover switch

    Does anyone know if someone has a rebuild kit or is rebuilding original 63-67 headlight bucket rollover switches? I have had bad luck with the Asian repos and have bunch of original ones I would like to use. Most of them the only thing broken is the metal tabs on the side that hold it together.

    Thanks

    Hopefully someone will chime in with the issue, but I believe there was a great article in the restorer a while back about rebuilding these.

      There's not much to them and are easy to take apart and clean the points.
      Most important is to be careful when removing the clips. I use an awl to push in the release pin while pulling up on the clip. If you brake a clip they are very hard to come by.

        Bill,

        great picture! think what Jeremy is asking is how can I "reattach" the tabs which have broken off......does someone have a rebuild kit with the tabs....not happy with the repops and looking to rebuild some originals he has in hand

          Yes, the clips are what I need. Does anyone supply them?

          Thanks

              The clips look identical to the ones used in 62 (and other?) power window switches. Perhaps another source for parts.

                  Re: 63-67 bucket rollover switch

                  These clips came up as a side discussion in a topic back in August. Since I have been casually looking for a source for a few years I thought for what it was worth I would email Corvette Central and ask if they would consider producing, or sourcing, or selling them. I figure that if someone is reproducing the entire switch then obviously someone has to be making the clips for them. I haven't followed up with Smart Parts but here is Corvette Central's reply;

                  Norm,

                  There was a time when we sold the spring clip separate, but no longer.

                  Smart Parts is the vendor for the current switch (undoubtedly made overseas) We have tried unsuccessfully to purchase the clips separate.

                  Regards,
                  Gus G.
