    What Starter is this?

    I have a starter # 1108381 which my numbers book lists as a 70-71 350 LT1 starter. However, it has a code of 2D25 4 which I interperate as April 25, 72.
    What is it really?
    Thanks in advance.

Tim according to the JM FOR 70-72 that starter no. doesn't jive for a LT1 . The date is correct 4-25-72.

According to the c3corvette.ca site its application includes 1972 ZR1 motors.

      1108381 ZR1 Engines with M22 HD 4-Speed Manual

Ron, the JM maybe wrong, it states 1108351 for the ZR1 w/manuel trans.or maybe there were a few different numbers, for the LT1 cars.

The JG's are created by humans. It seems so obvious, unless you've actually written and published and then the obvious gets past you.

Sometimes this occurs w/o a lot of cross reference to on line sources and or old books, in this case it gets real interesting in that my 1973 dated 74 and back C3 special Corvette GM service parts book says this:

          70-72 Corvette w. HD 4spd 1108381 $81.80 w/switch (stamped 1108351-1108381)

One of the guys with other GM parts books will need to identify if these were used in other GM applications.

One thing I have noticed recently is a trend in questions being posed here on this forum and within a day, parts are appearing on ebay. the data might surprise you.
