2 of the 3 fuel lines to 54 carbs have compression fittings. Was the compression material rubber? Where can these be purchased? Substitute product? thanks for any recommendations.

There are/were rubber washers/gaskets in those 2 fittings you refer to.
I couldn't find any years ago when I had my 54, so I took rubber fuel hose of the appropriate ID, and cut slices off the end.
I used those slices as "gaskets". Never leaked a drop.

I did the same thing
I could not find O rings that worked correctly
so I used hose1954 Corvette #3803 - Top Flight 2012, Bloomington Gold 2012,

I went to an industrial hose supplier and bought some obsolete brass fittings with the same style compression fittings. They looked exactly like short cut-offs of a neoprene fuel line.Comment
