    68 Battery Compartment Plug

Was looking up under the 68 the other day and noticed that the battery compartment didn't have a plug covering the hole in the bottom middle.
The jack compartment had the plug. Am I missing a plug or was the battery side like that? Thanks in advance. Jeff

    Jeff,
The drain hole in the battery compartment used a plug that acted as a vent and drain. It allowed any battery gas or acid to be drained from the compartment to the outside. The 1969 AIM shows it in UPC 1 page B1. It lists part number 3948148. I do not have a 1968 AIM. It should be similar.

Thank you Lawrence. My 68 a AIM is same UPC 1 and B1. There are two plug numbers though 3948148 and 4725594 . Man I thought I was missing it. The seat plugs look the same as the jack plug.

The 68 and 69 look to have the same plug numbers 4725594 and 3948148. Looks like the addition of 13 (the 3948148) has a revision date of 3-22-68

I think that Dr. Rebuild has excellent reproduction of both these plugs if you need them.
