When I was at the National Corvette Museum this last week picking up my new car, I was given a tour of the back room where an absolutely gorgeous Silver Olive 1958 Corvette (one of a kind) was stored, named "Fancy Free" and designed by the Damsels of Design Harley Earl had commissioned. This is the first time I had seen or heard about this special Corvette and found a story about it, what an interesting car and it shows how special Harley Earl was in those days.

Re: Fancy Free
At the 2007 National held in Marlborough, Mass. the 58 was on display with a great write-up of it's history. Since I owned a 58 for some time it was very interesting to see all the changes - you do have to get used to the color.- Top

Re: Fancy Free
That car was also the subject of an article I wrote on C1 Power Top mechanism operation/restoration several years ago in "Corvette Enthusiast" magazine, while Werner was in the middle of the car's restoration.
