    Re: 1967 repop bumper bolts

Leaving the 4 grade 8 front brace to bumper bolts out of the discussion, there are 3 different bolts in a C2 system: 2 different bolts used here WB and RBW both grade 8

    1. The 4 front brace to cross member 1" short bolts (I've seen TR here un molested) What others - real that is because the long time repor here was the RBW, easily noted? M, RBW (very small and at 4, 8 and 12 oclock position) WB (early cars 63-64)

    2. The largest usage are the 1-1/4 bolts, we agree RSC and M.

    3. The longer 1-3/4 bolts two in the front, and the rest are in the back inner braces, lots of RBW, I don't recall seeing any others real, like rusted in place on un molested cars 65 67.

      Ron,
I only reply to Neal about the bumper bolts. The braces and bolts securing them to the frame is another issue not covered.

I agree there is a wide assortment of head identification use by GM in these applications. RBW being the major one I have uncovered. So we do agree. Also TR, C, and WB (earlier 65 on back) is also viable usage. In my collection I have some P heads but can't recall length of the top of my head. Most of the longer ones 1 1/4" we agree are M and RSC.

I have found the largest usage of RBW on the car chassis as a whole too.

I avoid repop hardware except the M head 7/16 bolt as they are the only ones that pass my standards. My stock of hardware bolts is replated originals.
