I'm trying to decifer a date code for a ralley-type wheel. What does 12 (on left side of valve stem hole) followed by 20 AG (on the right side of the valve stem hole) mean? As usual, many thanks to all who keep responding to my requests.

Re: Ralley Wheel Date Code
December (hole) 20th; AG code is 1968 Corvette 15 x 7" rally. To the left of the 12 you may see a K_1_7 (Kelsey Hayes, Romulus MI plant, 1967 [not sure about the 7, if actual year of fabrication, could be 8 or later if a serivce rim].- Top

Re: Ralley Wheel Date Code
Fred, the AG code were 7 inch wide rally wheels that were made for 1968 only and the 20 to the right of the valve stem hole is for the day. the 12 to the left of the valve stem hole is for the month (Dec.)
Note there should be a K for Kelsey Hayes followed by a 1 for Chevrolet division and then a 8 for 1968 at the beginning of the sequence of numbers.
I hope I haven't confused you.

Re: Ralley Wheel Date Code
As I recall, the "year" number is the calendar year the wheel was made and not the model year the wheel goes on. An AG wheel manufactured on Dec. 20, 1967, for a 1968 Corvette, should have a "7" in the "year" position and not an 8.

Re: Ralley Wheel Date Code
There is a drawing (so you know what and where to look) and an explanation in the 1968-69 TIM&JG. Check it out at the "NCRS store" link on the blue bar at the top of the page. Some fellow members worked very hard for little money to bring you that information.Terry- Top
