Repair a Leaking Holley?

The press fit plug in the secondary float bowl where the fuel transfer tube from the front float bowl connects has begun to leak (drip) What is the best method for stopping the leak? Any help would be appreciated. The weather today here in fly-over country is supposed to be to nice and I'd like to get the car out and enjoy it.

There should be an o-ring on the end of tube. You should be able to find a suitable replacement at the hardware store for a few cents.

Jim,
I had the same problem and I solved it by taking the carb off and laying it on it's side, plug up, after draining it and getting some JB Weld and putting a small amount around the outside edge of the plug. I let it dry for a day or so. It worked great for me and hasn't leaked since and is barely noticeable since the color of the JB Weld is a light gray.

go to a model shop and get some fuel proof model airplane dope they use on model airplanes. it dries clear and is hard to see. clean the area with some lacquer thinner first

Guys, thanks for the replies. It just so happens that I've got to go to the hobby store tomorrow to look for some parts for my son's remote control helicopter that he crashed into the garage door over the weekend, glad it was closed since the Corvettes were on the other side of it.

I'll ask for the fuel proof glue as Clem described.

i have posted before there is a "O" ring under those spun in plugs and putting the carb parts in the carb cleaner will eat them away. the older carbs most likely have a "O" ring made from material that is not ethanol safe.
