    59 vette park brake switch

Got a brake light on in the instrument cluster. Found wiring schematics but cannot find switch. Not sure it is here. Does anyone know where it is located?

On a '62, it's on the parking (emergency) brake tube. Down by your left foot when it's on the clutch pedal. Look for a black cylinder about 3/4" high on the parking brake tube with 2 wires coming out of it.

Must Be Why The Light Is On. No Switch, Or It's In A Different On A 59.
I Can't Find The Tan Wire That I Suppose To Feed The Switch Or Goes To Instrument Panel. Do You Know If Is This An Option Or Is This Standard For C1's?

It was standard in '62. But I'm pretty sure it was an option in '59.

I'm surprised nobody else has responded to your question. Look around in the archives on this. I believe that there is some information on this there.

On my 59, the HAND brake switch is on top of the handbrake rod a about 6 inches in from the firewall. Looks like a vertical black cylinder.

This Car Must Not Be Equioed With The Switch. I Think I Will Check To See What Light Is Burning. It Must Be In The Wrong Socket In The Cluster.
            Thanks For Your Help.

the brake alarm light was an option in 59. you should have a flasher that clips on the kick panel and a switch that bolts to the e-brake shaft. both items are tough to find and there are no repros that i know of. (see attached)

Great Pics. I Do Not Have Any Of That. I Found That The Light Is On Only When Dash Lights Are On. Has To Be Bulb Plugged In At Wrong Spot. Thanks Again.
