    1967 435 Intake Manifold

Any of you 67 folks expect to see 435 intakes (and waternecks) painted silver? Were some seen with paint and others not? Has it been noted on original cars? If so, was the attaching hardware painted?

    Thanks,

    Mark

    Mark -

The '67 JG calls for a "natural finish" aluminum intake manifold, with possible engine orange overspray; they used the 660 thermostat housing, which was also natural aluminum (painted orange on the 390 iron manifold).

Fokker Driver, I have seen mid-year small blocks with aluminum paint on them, but can not remember seeing what I thought was an unmolested big block, of any vintage, with aluminum paint on it.

        Dick,

I agree, for 66 and 67 big block. However, the thermostat housing on a 65 was cast iron so at least that area would have been painted dull aluminum.

          Mark,

I have a 1967 435 which has been off the road since 1971. It had 32K miles when it was parked. No sign of any aluminum paint. It is a California delivered car complete with smog pump and injectors.
